Sabertooth 2X12 R/C is a dual motor driver specifically optimized for use in radio controlled vehicles. It is suitable for medium powered robots, cars and boats. The Sabertooth 2x12 R/C replaces our 2x10 RC controller.

Out of the box, it can supply two DC brushed motors with up to 12A each. Peak currents of 25A are achievable for a few seconds. Overcurrent and thermal protection means you'll never have to worry about killing the driver with accidental stalls or by hooking up too big a motor.

This special R/C edition of our motor driver comes with options for exponential control, autocalibration and built-in mixing. The operating mode is set with the onboard DIP switches so there are no jumpers to lose.

Sabertooth is the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class. The regenerative topology means that your batteries get recharged whenever you command your robot to slow down or reverse. Sabertooth also allows you to make very fast stops and reverses - giving your vehicle a quick and nimble edge.

Sabertooth has a built in 5V Switching BEC that can provide power to a microcontroller or R/C receiver and a servo or two. The lithium cutoff mode allows Sabertooth to operate safely with lithium ion and lithium polymer battery packs - the highest energy density batteries available.

Sabertooth's transistors are switched at ultrasonic speeds (32kHz) for silent operation.

If you need more advanced control features, check out Sabertooth 2X12. For something smaller, check out Sabertooth 2X5 R/C.

Use of our motor drivers with cheap AC adapters is not recommended. Use a battery or at least put a battery in parallel with a DC supply.

    perfect for my Halloween project

Posted by mark c on Sep 1st 2018

last year I modified a walker with two ride on toy car motors and mounted a skeleton to it for Halloween. using two RC ESCs and a stick controller it was a bit tricky to operate. this dual motor driver was the perfect retrofit. now I can use a standard RC car controller and anybody can operate my prop with little to no instruction. after wiring the motors and battery the control worked flawlessly the first time. I am very happy with my purchase.

    Awesome Product but........

Posted by Jesse smith on Jun 29th 2018

Would be 5 stars.....Overall Im super happy with the purchase but it could use a couple things, not the sabertooth itself but the instructions. Im new to the whole electronics world and wasn't sure which way the 3 pin connector connected to the receiver. It could go in either way with the brown wire on the left side or the brown wire on the right side. It really does matter and i had it wrong. Also it said to connect the 5 volt supply to my receiver to power it , so i did and i almost fried it ...it started smoking. Come to find out that the wires that connect to the receiver also supply the power to the receiver. So it was totally unnecessary. I can thank Sheng from maker motors who actually called me and researched with me and we got it right. So after a few setbacks my remote control lawnmower is a success an i couldn't be happier. I cut my lawn today without even breaking a sweat. So if you need a dual motor controller for 12 volt rc this sabertooth is the one.
